Open an internet browser and go to https://cran.r-project.org./
Click on the Download R for Windows link.
Click on install R for the first time link.
Click, Download R X.X.X for Windows (X.X.X stand for the latest version of R. eg: 4.1.1). At the moment of writing (16 August 2021), R 4.1.1 is the latest version. Choose the most recent one. This saves the executable .exe file.
Run the .exe
file and follow the installation instructions on the screen. Run the .exe
file with the default settings by clicking ‘Next’.

Go to: https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/ and click on the “DOWNLOAD” button.
Click on “DOWNLOAD RSTUDIO FOR WINDOWS”.
Next, double click the downloaded file. This will start the install process. Click next to continue when the install wizard opens. Continue next until the installation process takes place:
Open RStudio by clicking the RStudio icon. Once you have RStudio opened, there should be several “windows”.
Go to the window named “Console” and type 1+2
and press enter as shown below. An output line reading [1] 3
should appear. This means that R and RStudio are working.
